LEADERSHIP

Pastor Gil & Nancy Miller
Born in a small, rural community, Gil heard the gospel at a very young age and became a follower of Jesus. And born and raised in larger cities and large schools, Nancy Inman became a follower of Christ at a Billy Graham crusade. Both Gil and Nancy were raised in environments of music and worship. And later, being led and taught by awesome men and women of God about the love and faithfulness of God, they both followed after the Holy Spirit’s leading in their lives. He brought them together, and they then led worship together, and walked with others in discipleship groups. Now, as pastors Gil and Nancy have a passion to “equip the saints to do the work of the ministry,” and see the entire church grow and participate in prayer, relationships and community, worship, missions, and spiritual fathering and mothering.

Paul & Fenny Powers | Elders
When Paul and Fenny Powers were approached by Desert Streams leadership in late 2012 they had no idea what was to come. Having married 3 years prior, and with a brand new baby to care for, the new parents were happy just sitting in the pew, being fed by the ministry of Pastors Gil and Nanci. So, on that late September evening when they were asked to consider serving as elders, it came as a complete surprise. The Lord slowly got a hold of their hearts and with the confirmation of the current elders, they became excited about serving Jesus, the church, and the pastors whom they loved. They have been serving faithfully since then. Paul and Fenny bring years of loving Jesus and practical ministry to the body at Desert Streams.

Brandon & Tara Baker | Youth Pastors
Brandon Baker, with his bride of 25 years, Tara, moved to Bend, Oregon in August 2018 from the state of Michigan, to serve here at Desert Streams, as the Youth Pastor/Associate Pastor. Brandon is passionate about discipling men of all ages whether it’s backpacking, fishing, or just walking through life with them right where they are at. Brandon has a passion for preaching and teaching God’s word. Tara Baker is honored to serve next to her husband. She has a mother’s heart for their 2 adult children (Kody & Hayley), who continue to reside in Michigan. She loves to disciple women of all ages, and help them find deeper intimacy with Jesus. Tara is a worshiper and loves to express her love and thankfulness to the Lord through music & prayer. In their spare time, they love to worship together, kayak, hike, backpack, snowboard, and most of all, hang out with friends and family. A little secret about the Bakers…they are extreme introverts! Just kidding!!
